The School
The DGfI Spring School on Immunology, now in its 20th year, offers advanced training in specialized immunological topics and is suitable for young researchers and physicians with solid immunological knowledge. It is organized by Friederike Berberich-Siebelt (Würzburg), Hyun-Dong Chang (Berlin), Christine Falk (Hannover), Bimba Hoyer (Bonn), Robert Jack (Greifswald), Michael Lohoff (Marburg), Fritz Melchers (Berlin), Andreas Radbruch (Berlin), Barbara Schraml (München) and Hendrik Schulze-Koops (München), under the patronage of the German Society for Immunology.

Participation
Due to limited space the number of participants is restricted to 60. In general, we receive more applications than available places, and in this case the organizing committee selects the participants. Selection criteria are: level of education, number of applicants from a city/university/institute etc. Students who are at the start of their careers are generally recommended to attend the Autumn School first.

The venue
Ettal is a small but well known town in Bavaria near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in the Ammergauer Alps, the largest nature reserve in Germany. The village of Ettal is famous for the Benedictine Monastery founded by Ludwig IV - "the Bavarian" - in 1330. The unique monastery complex is one of the highlights of Bavarian Architecture.
Participants will stay at the hotel “Ludwig der Bayer” - a typical Bavarian hotel in the centre of Ettal. The lectures are held in the Chinese Hall of the Ettal monastery.
How to get here
By car: From Munich take the A95 motorway till the end, then along the B2 till Oberau. Drive over the "Ettaler Berg" and you will reach the B32 to Ettal.
By train: From Munich (Hauptbahnhof) there is a connection to Garmisch/Mittenwald once per hour. Leave the train at Bahnhof Oberau. There you have to take a bus to Ettal (Line 9606, stop 'Klostergasthof Ettal'). Bus schedule
