IUIS-DGfI stipends IUIS-DGfI stipends for students from the developing countries

Through joint sponsorship by IUIS and the DGfI we are able to offer 3 full scholarships for participation in the Spring School 2025 (March 9-14, 2025, in Ettal in Southern Germany) for applicants from low to middle income countries who are studying/working in these countries. The scholarships include

■ Travel expenses up to max. 1500 USD (covered by IUIS)
■ Registration fee incl. board and lodging for the duration of the school (covered by the DGfI)
■ All other costs must be borne by the scholars themselves.

In order to qualify, applicants must demonstrate a keen interest in sharing the knowledge they have acquired in their home country and in taking on local leadership positions in the future.  Our mission is to identify mentors and leaders for immunology in the individual developing countries.

In recent years, the number of applicants for these scholarships has been so high that the IUIS Education Committee (chair: Prof. Clive Gray, member für die DGfI: Prof. Tim Sparwasser) has since 2016 organised a number of immunology schools in different developing countries with a focus on Africa and Latin America.

Data protection information Spring School: Please note that by submitting an application to the school you agree to the following:

  • we may take pictures during the school (for display in a passwort-protected gallery for registered participants only and rarely for promotional purposes)
  • your data (name, first name, email address, home institution, abstract and poster) will be published in the printed booklet. This will be handed out exclusively during the school, to participants, speakers and representatives of sponsoring companies.
