DGfI, founded in 1967, has more than 2,400 members active in basic immunological research or clinical immunology. The scientific activities of the DGfI are organized in 16 study groups. The DGfI organizes annual congresses with approximately 1000 participants, at intervals also together with other European societies, in order to advance the networking of immunologists within Europe. There are also small bilateral meetings.
We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Christiane Opitz has been awarded the Ita Askonas Prize. The award ceremony took place on 2 Sept 2021 at the ECI2021 in the Acteria & EFIS Awards Session.

We offer education and training for all levels from beginners to postdocs in the three modules of our Academy of Immunology.
With this certificate, DGfI documents comprehensive expertise in basic and clinical immunology for for private persons and institutions.
Our scientists are organized in 16 thematically focused working groups. New in 2021: the working groups Vaccines and Allergy/Immunology.
This forum offers young immunologists within DGfI the opportunity to advance topics of particular relevance to them.
