DGfI, founded in 1967, has more than 2,400 members active in basic immunological research or clinical immunology. The scientific activities of the DGfI are organized in 13, soon 14, study groups. The DGfI organizes annual congresses with approximately 1000 participants, at intervals also together with other European societies, in order to advance the networking of immunologists within Europe. There are also small bilateral meetings.
Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Boehm, Director at the Max-Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics in Freiburg, receives the German Immunology Award of the DGfI for his groundbreaking work in the field of the development of the immune system.
Every year, the German Society of Immunology awards a number of thesis and early career prizes resp. to young scientists, who have made an outstanding contribution in the field of Immunology. Please note that the press release is currently available in German only.
We offer education and training for all levels from beginners to postdocs in the three modules of our Academy of Immunology.
