The interdisciplinary study group was founded in 1994 at the autumn conference of the DGfI in Konstanz. The aim of its activities is to promote communication and cooperation between basic immunological research and applied transplantation medicine.
Among other things, questions on tolerance induction, transplant rejection, immune modulation and xenotransplantation are dealt with. The annual Spring Meeting is the platform for the exchange of information and results. The AK also participates in the annual DGfI conferences by participating in workshops (e.g. “Transplantation/Tolerance”).
