AK Clinical Immunology DGfI study groups

Founded in 1972, the study group (dt: ‘Arbeitskreis’) Clinical Immunology (AKKI) is one of the oldest interest groups of the German Society for Immunology. Annual meetings took place for years with the support of the Behring company in the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt-Höchst, after that they moved to the centre of Frankfurt and more recently to Schwielowsee near Potsdam. In its long history, the study group has been shaped by renowned personalities such as Hans-Hartmut Peter and Reinhold Schmidt. The group is currently headed by Prof. Bimba Hoyer (Berlin) and Prof. Bodo Grimbacher (Freiburg). It currently has about 200 members. The aim of the study group is to promote education, research and patient care in the field of Clinical Immunology.
