The Study Group for Tumour Immunology currently has almost 600 members. In addition to focusing on the funding of young researchers, the working group deals with the composition of the tumour microenvironment, the molecular mechanisms of tumour immune escape and the anti-tumour immune response, the design of tumour immunotherapies and the immunomonitoring of tumour patients. The working group participates in the tumour immunology programme of the DGfI conference, in the organisation of workshops and an annual working group meeting, which serves as a platform for scientific exchange between young and experienced, national and international scientists within and outside the study group. Internationally, the working group is associated with the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer.
