Researchers of both the German Society of Immunology (DGfI) and German Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (DGAKI) founded the AK Allergology and Immunology in two virtual meetings (23th April and 28th June) in 2021.
The main goals of this AK are to
- intensify scientific exchange between researchers of different groups working on allergy/immunology topics
- facilitate collaborations and networks between basic and translational/clinical research groups
- provide a platform and develop concepts to support career development of young researchers in allergy/immunology
The interests of the working group covers a wide variety of allergy topics like (but not restricted to) B-cell/IgE repertoire, innate and adaptive immune responses, type 2 immunity and inflammation, interplay of allergy and microbiota/neurological triggers/environmental exposure and/or respiratory infections, tolerance induction and novel immunomodulatory therapeutic approaches.
116 members are currently acting jointly in this working group in order to achieve these goals.
