The DGfI comittees About us

Committee

Public Outreach

The DGfI Public Outreach Committee wants to raise awareness of the importance of the immune system for our health and for the role of the immune system in many diseases. To achieve this goal, the DGfI has started to establish platforms and campaigns to inform the general public, teachers, students, patients and policy makers in politics and business about the immune system and its function and malfunction.

Committee

Animals in Research

The Committee aims to inform the general public about the importance of animal experiments in biomedical research and to provide it with transparent information. Among others, a point-by-point analysis of the most common arguments put forward by opponents of animal experiments was developed. In addition, the Committee supports the public outreach initiative “Understanding Animal Experiments” of the Alliance of Science Organisations.

Committee

Equality and Career Support

The activities of the Comittee are aimed at young scientists, women and men, who are in the challenging phase from their doctorate to their first professorship. They should encourage academic careers, impart knowledge and practical tools and help with networking. In addition to organising informative events such as the Career Lunch during the DGfI annual meetings, the Committee offers personal mentoring on career-specific questions.
